Project context

How this product is typically engineered

A representative mains-powered wet-environment architecture for controlled water heating, pump or massage loads, temperature and level supervision, isolated user controls, and independent protection against leakage, dry heating, and overtemperature.

System architecture

Typical architecture

Protected mains input supplies an isolated low-voltage controller and separately switched heater, water-pump, air-pump, or vibration loads; temperature, water-level or flow, and independent thermal protection gate every operating state.

Engineering risks to resolve

Decisions to close before release

  • Maintain insulation, creepage, grounding or double insulation, and moisture separation around mains power.
  • Stop heating safely after low water, sensor failure, relay welding, leakage, or stalled circulation.
  • Control load surge, relay heating, condensation, capillary water ingress, and service wiring errors.

Validation plan

Checks to define before production

  • Use an interlocked isolated fixture for dielectric, insulation, leakage-current, polarity, power, and protective-earth checks where applicable.
  • Test full and minimum water levels, temperature accuracy, dry heat, blocked pump, sensor fouling, relay-weld simulation, and independent cutoffs.
  • Run cold-start, thermal, splash, condensation, drain-residue, load-combination, relay, and wet-environment endurance.

What to put in the RFQ

Files and records to agree before quoting

Use this list to agree the build inputs and release records for a similar product. The final set depends on the project.

Design baseline

Released schematic or block diagram, interface table, power states, critical constraints, and revision owner.

Manufacturing release

Gerber or ODB++, stack-up, centroid data, assembly drawings, approved DFM dispositions, and panel assumptions.

Material control

Released BOM revision, manufacturer part numbers, AVL or alternate rules, no-substitute lines, MSL handling, and exception approvals.

Validation record

Test method, acceptance criteria, sample or serial identity, measured result fields, and disposition. Example scope: Use an interlocked isolated fixture for dielectric, insulation, leakage-current, polarity, power, and protective-earth checks where applicable.

Production release

First-article status plus the agreed SPI, AOI, X-ray, ICT, FCT, programming, rework, OQA, labeling, and packing records.

During RFQ review, we confirm the required fields, sampling, limits, approvals, and record-retention period. Confidential project information stays within the agreed access rules.

Development and production controls

Typical manufacturing scope

  • Isolated mains and multi-load switching.
  • Water-temperature and level safety interlocks.
  • Display, key, buzzer, and fault-state integration.
