Network Mini UPS and Multi-Rail Backup PCBA
A representative compact backup-power architecture for keeping routers, optical terminals, cameras, or other low-voltage network devices online during mains interruptions.

Project context
How this product is typically engineered
A representative compact backup-power architecture for keeping routers, optical terminals, cameras, or other low-voltage network devices online during mains interruptions.
System architecture
Typical architecture
A DC input power path supplies the load and charges a protected cylindrical-cell pack; buck and boost stages generate regulated output rails while control logic supervises switchover, battery state, indicators, and fault shutdown.
Engineering risks to resolve
Decisions to close before release
- Transfer between adapter and battery without resetting sensitive network equipment.
- Protect and balance the cell pack while controlling charge time, heat, standby loss, and service life.
- Hold every output rail within ripple and transient limits across mixed loads and falling battery voltage.
Validation plan
Checks to define before production
- Measure switchover interruption, runtime, cold start, restart thresholds, and behavior during repeated outages.
- Characterize output accuracy, ripple, load steps, efficiency, cross-regulation, and low-battery derating.
- Run charge-cycle, thermal, overload, short-circuit, reverse-input, cell-fault, and adapter-fault testing.
What to put in the RFQ
Files and records to agree before quoting
Use this list to agree the build inputs and release records for a similar product. The final set depends on the project.
Design baseline
Released schematic or block diagram, interface table, power states, critical constraints, and revision owner.
Manufacturing release
Gerber or ODB++, stack-up, centroid data, assembly drawings, approved DFM dispositions, and panel assumptions.
Material control
Released BOM revision, manufacturer part numbers, AVL or alternate rules, no-substitute lines, MSL handling, and exception approvals.
Validation record
Test method, acceptance criteria, sample or serial identity, measured result fields, and disposition. Example scope: Measure switchover interruption, runtime, cold start, restart thresholds, and behavior during repeated outages.
Production release
First-article status plus the agreed SPI, AOI, X-ray, ICT, FCT, programming, rework, OQA, labeling, and packing records.
During RFQ review, we confirm the required fields, sampling, limits, approvals, and record-retention period. Confidential project information stays within the agreed access rules.
Development and production controls
Typical manufacturing scope
- UPS power-path management.
- Battery charging and protection.
- Multi-rail buck and boost conversion.
